YTSO Chairman Tahsin BECAN, in his speech at the meeting,
After sharing information about the processes in the OIZs, which are still in progress in Yalova, it is necessary to work on the completion of the internships that the students studying in technical high schools and Vocational High Schools should do in their workplaces.
An important issue is that the city economy is experiencing serious problems due to the fact that universities are not opened due to the pandemic. Restaurants, shuttles, minibuses, cargo companies, residences built for students, private sector dormitory operators, stationery shops, which are in direct interaction with the university, experience economic difficulties due to the absence of students. In our country, our students who study in kindergartens and primary education go to schools within the framework of precautions, large enterprises can continue their production without a decrease in the number of workers with the measures they take within their own bodies. In addition, if our universities are closed, our youth between the ages of 18 and 22 spend a large part of their time in cafes outside, which further increases the risk of epidemics. Of course, our priority is health, we approach this issue with sensitivity. However, we believe that since the academic staff and students at the universities are at a high level of awareness, they can take the necessary precautions, adjust their curriculum, and switch to education and training without creating a health risk and will contribute to the economy of Yalova.
Our other topics are the necessity of increasing state support, postponing and structuring tax and SGK payments, as our export companies are negatively affected by the increase in freight prices. He conveyed information to TOBB President Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, stating that the delay of the payments of the loans received within the scope of the Credit Guarantee Fund, the problems experienced by Tourism Travel Agencies, wedding and organization companies due to their inability to plan for 2021, he informed TOBB President Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu.
