Meeting with the members of YTSO Tourism Commission, Acar conveyed information to the commission members about the lands opened for tourism allocation in Termal, the lands opened for tourism allocation and the plans there. He shared about the damages caused by the pandemic process to the tourism sector and how tourism is affected in particular in Termal.

Then, visiting YTSO President Tahsin Becan in his office, Acar said, “Yalova is a city that defines itself with main topics such as tourism, industry and education. Of course, our city has always been a city that has adopted and cared about its tourism identity. Unfortunately, Yalova, which has very serious potentials, could not promote these beauties enough. As YATUB, we are preparing to take important steps in this regard. We will host important tourism agencies in our city and show them these riches on the spot. We care about including our city in tour programs. The introduction of our city in digital media means reaching a much wider audience. As I just said, it is very important for our city to introduce these riches and we, as YATUB, have made the necessary plans in this regard.”

TOURISM SECTOR HAS BEEN NEGATIVELY AFFECTED BY THE PANDEMIC
Emphasizing that the tourism industry has been hit hard by the pandemic, Acar said, “The pandemic has seriously damaged the tourism industry. These negative effects still continue. Especially in the summer months, the mobility in our seaside resorts could not be experienced due to the pandemic. We have entered the process of full normalization, and when we say that tourism will become active, now we are faced with the threat of mucilage.
YATUB IS TAKING AN IMPORTANT MISSION
Tahsin Becan, Chairman of YTSO Board of Directors, said, “Thermal district is the pioneer of tourism in our province. We also closely follow the importance you attach to the development of international tourism in our district. Of course, the pandemic has disrupted the tourism sector, as it has in every sector. Of course, this was unpredictable. But we are rapidly recovering from the effects of the pandemic. We hope that the pandemic will end in a short time and our city will start to grow again with all its sectors, first wrapping its wounds and then growing. Of course, YATUB, of which you are the president, plays a very important role in the development of tourism in our city. I also attach great importance to the work you will do on the promotion of the province. We will continue to contribute to the promotion of our city, as we have done so far.”

Then, Thermal Mayor and YATUB President H. Sinan Acar, YTSO President Tahsin Becan and YTSO Tourism Commission members Özgür Çavuşoğlu, Hakan Gençer, Gökhan Doğan, Merva Yadigar Gençer and Metin Soysal exchanged views for a while.
