MARCH 8, INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY
Tahsin Becan, Chairman of the Board of Yalova Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said, “Today is March 8, International Women's Day. This special day provides an opportunity to celebrate the struggles and achievements of women all over the world for equal rights. However, today we are also grieving because of the earthquake disaster in Turkey.
Along with the pain and losses caused by the earthquake, the effects of this disaster, especially on women, should not be forgotten. The earthquake caused many women to lose their homes and loved ones, and these women will now have to start over.
Therefore, as we celebrate International Women's Day this year, we offer our condolences to those who lost their lives in the earthquake disaster in Turkey and their families. We will also do our best to provide support for women and children left homeless by the earthquake.
Although women have faced difficulties in every period of history, they have not given up their struggle. Women play important roles in education, business and politics around the world, and they go one step further every day.
Therefore, while celebrating women's struggle today, we must also continue to work for women's equal rights in all aspects of society. If women get stronger, societies get stronger too.
This year's International Women's Day should be an opportunity to support women affected by the earthquake disaster in Turkey and to fight for women's rights. Respecting women's rights will enable them to realize their potential and contribute more to society.
