19 May Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day Celebration Message
May 19 is one of the most important days in Turkish history. This day, which is the beginning of the War of Independence, is one of the most important steps taken for our country on the way to independence. This day, which Atatürk gifted to the youth, is a great opportunity for our youth to take care of our country and our independence.
It is the symbol of declaring the struggle to gain our independence, the determination to live free and the love of homeland to the whole world. The Republic of Türkiye, which was established as a result of this struggle, has been entrusted to our youth. For this reason, we maintain our belief that they will carry our country forward by offering better opportunities to our younger generations.
The task of our youth is to light the torch of independence, to carry it forward and to work for the further economic, scientific and technological advancement of Turkey. Our young people on this path will play an important role in Turkey's future.
Today, I commemorate our martyrs, especially Atatürk and his brothers in arms, who gave their lives for our country with respect and gratitude. I congratulate all our people and young people on May 19, Commemoration of Atatürk and Youth and Sports Day, and wish our country to always remain strong and independent.
